Database and API integration for custom AI systems
For businesses running (or needing) their own data model — a Postgres database and well-defined APIs, built the same way I built Cadence Ops.
The workflows shown are potential implementations, not prebuilt integrations or access to your accounts. Each platform's supported API and permissions must be verified.
01What this enables
Security and access
I build with row-level security, an append-only audit trail, and validation at every write — the same approach used in Cadence Ops.
Human approval
Human approval gates are built into any workflow step with legal, financial or safety consequences.
Who this is for
Businesses whose operations are outgrowing off-the-shelf tools and need a data model that actually matches how they work.
What we verify before building
- The records and relationships the system must hold, plus existing schemas or API documentation.
- User roles, data ownership, retention requirements and authorised access paths.
- Current imports, reporting needs and how a change or failed write should be traced.
An example scope
The first step is to define the system of record, identifiers and validation rules. Then we agree how other applications read or change that data, including duplicate requests, failed writes and permissions. Cadence Ops is the published example of a related operational data model with an audit trail.
Is migrating all our data required?
Not automatically. A new system may connect to existing sources, migrate an agreed subset or replace a specific record store. Discovery establishes the authoritative data and migration checks before a cutover is proposed.
Agree the build and support
Acceptance covers the agreed records, validation, duplicate handling, failure visibility and human approvals. Ongoing support and any third-party account costs are scoped explicitly.
